Most of you don’t know that I host two podcasts. Both are self-defense related. One’s for kids and one is for adults.
I just recorded an episode from the Camino! It’s about self-defense related stuff I’ve experienced along the way. Because it was recorded on the Camino and is about the Camino, I thought I’d pop a link to it here. Listen if you have 20 minutes and like to listen to stories.
Meanwhile, here’s a Camino update:
Astorga is a sweet-sweet town. If you like Gaudí (he’s been my favorite architect for years but I just found out he was a fascist – how did I not know this and what does that mean for my love of his buildings? Don’t worry, you don’t have to answer that. I’ll figure it out.) …continuing with that sentence…if you like Gaudí, one of his cool buildings is in this town. Photo below.
I think I mentioned before that I realized there’s just not time to walk all the way to Santiago. Because of this, I am very strategically taking alternate modes of transportation here and there. I was the first one up in my hostel this morning and was very quiet so I wouldn’t wake anyone up. I got to the train station in the dark, excited because I have always loved a good train ride! I hopped off at the station in Ponferrada – still very early, cold and the sun was rising – and walked by the Knights of Templar Castle. Photo below. The Rio Sil (banner above) runs through this city. I like the name!
I hiked to Camponaraya, a tiny little town and get to stay in a small attic room all by myself. Tomorrow will be another early day. I have a 14 miler straight up into the mountains to a very tiny off-Camino hostel which is very small but with an apparently gorgeous view. More on that next time!
Here are some photos and a link to the episode. Love you all! Xoxoxox
